Rock Solid
Rock Solid and Rock Solid:Sunday are groups for young people in school years 7-9.

Rock Solid: Sunday

Rock Solid:Sunday start off in the service and then go to our own activities in the Vicarage garage. Sunday mornings might involve making a video, taking part in a quiz or playing games, but the focus will always be on learning more about Jesus and how we can live as his followers.

On the first Sunday of the month there is a family service so we are in church for the whole service. When there is a communion service (usually the fourth Sunday of the month) Rock Solid:Sunday will go out during the first hymn and will rejoin their parents in time for communion.

Rock Solid (Tuesday Evening)

Rock Solid meets on Tuesday evenings from 7:30 to 8:45pm at St. Matthew's Church.

We usually start off in the Lower Hall and then move up to the church lounge. Each session will be slightly different and could involve making videos, cooking, recording a radio programme, taking part in quizzes or playing sport, as well as a programme of interactive teaching. Tuck shop is also available towards the end of the evening. Each weekly session costs 70p, which is payable on arrival.

At the end of each term there is usually a trip, which could be skiing, swimming, bowling, quasar or a similar activity.

In May and October, Rock Solid go away to Buckland Monachorum for a weekend of fun, activites and great teaching. In the summer some members of Rock Solid go to Edgehill Summer Venture for a great week of teaching and activities in North Devon.
