Getting Married

We very much welcome people who would like to be married at St Matthew's. As a parish church, anyone who lives in the parish or is on the electoral roll of the church is entitled to be married at St Matthew's. If you are divorced and getting remarried, it may still be possible to have a service celebrating your new marriage. To see if you live in our parish, please type your postcode into this website.
We're thrilled when people get married because marriage is a gift from God to everyone. We're keen to support those who enter married life and so we offer preparation sessions to those having their service at St Matthew's. These are designed to help couples understand and plan their services, as well as to prepare for life together as a married couple.
Our current fees (2015) for holding a wedding at St. Matthew’s are:
 Reading of the Banns  £28.00
 Wedding Service Fees  £424.00
 Organist  £40.00
 Heating and Lighting  £20.00
 Marriage Certificate  £3.50
 TOTAL  £515.50
If you live in the parish but are getting married elsewhere, you may need to have your banns read at St. Matthew's. Our current fee for reading the banns and issuing a certificate is £41.
For more information, to book a wedding or arrange to have your banns read please contact the church office.
